Dance Portraits with Paris

I received a last minute rush request for some dance photos for a wonderful competition dancer. Because they are family friends, I was absolutely elated to make these photos happen.

I must admit, I really wanted to bring it in these photos because I wanted to make a statement. Of course, Paris brought the ideas and we executed. I needed everything to be sharp and focused. Action shots for dance and sports photography are all about “the snipe” as I call it.

You really have to be able to time your shots and fire. I normally don’t shoot in multi-mode so I’m trusting my eye and my equipment’s speed and calibration to fire and get 1-2 shots and nail what it should be with precision.
